We are pleased to report that two DASCH Day Programs were initiated in 2007. The Individualized Vocational
Services (IVS) and the Individualized Recreational and Retirement Services (IRRS).
With a focus on individual needs, our four DASCH Day Programs provide each participant with meaningful activities that are tailored to their needs and interests.
These two new programs differs from our other two Day Programs in that it is based out of a person’s home
rather than a central location (i.e. St. Anne’s Road and Roblin Boulevard). The IRRS program is intended
for
our older or semi-retired individuals and for those that prefer a slower pace and quieter environment.
The IVS program focuses on gaining employment, vocational and life skills.
The participants still benefit from inclusion in the community through various activities and educational programs but in a quieter environment and at a less hectic pace than with our other Day Programs.
The two Day Programs support approximately 25 people. The IVS and IRRS support 12-13 people in each program.
We are looking for a new location for our program that is currently on St. Anne’s Road as it is getting too small and parking is limited. With a larger location we could expand our services and encourage more community involvement and offer different courses.
