Everyone is invited to come support the inclusion of people who experience intellectual disabilities, go for an inspirational walk around The Forks, and listen to some great live bands.
On Saturday, May 13th, DASCH presents the first Abilities Awareness 5 K Walk ‘n Roll which includes a free concert from artists Fred Penner, Bold as Lions, and many more. Everyone is invited to join our vision to increase the inclusion and awareness of people who experience intellectual disabilities. This walk is a celebration of our abilities.
This free family event, starts at 11:30am at the Forks Festival Field, and ends with a free concert at the Scotia Stage. Local bands Fred Penner, Bold as Lions, Ça Claque!, Indian City, Music Cellar-Student Band, Tim Butler, The Hillbillies and Portrait of a Leader will perform.
Susanne Williams, Director of the DASCH Foundation says, “The Ability Walk ’n Roll is a celebration of inclusion. At DASCH, we believe every individual needs to be included, valued, and free to make their own decisions in the community. We invite all agencies, families, organizations and companies who believe the same, to join us by flying their own banner or logo.”
